Special Edition BMW M3

BMW have unveiled a special edition M3 in a new colour; Frozen Silver, which will only be available for UK buyers.

Only 100 of the special edition Coupes, which are part of BMW M GmbH's 40th anniversary celebrations, will be made.

Each of the high performance Coupes will have a plaque on the centre console which will simply read 'one of 100'.

The car goes on sale on 1 June and will be priced at £58,720.

Victoria Beckham Reveals Special Edition Evoque at Beijing

Victoria Beckham has designed a new Evoque, which she launched at the Beijing Motor Show this week. Only 200 of the “Range Rover Evoque Special Edition with Victoria Beckham” cars will be available worldwide.

The Evoque is finished in matt grey along with contrasting black gloss on the wheel arches, wheels, roof and bonnet vents.

Last week the Evoque was named ‘Women’s World Car of the Year’ by a panel of female motor writers from across 12 counties with the BMW 3 Series in second place and the Audi Q3 in third.

First delivers are expected in October 2012 with a price tag of £79,995 (double the cost of a standard Evoque).

New Lamborghini SUV Pictures Revealed

The new Lamborghini SUV made its debut at the Beijing Motor Show this week.

The SUVs name; Urus is taken from the world of bulls, as has been Lamborghini’s tradition.

“SUVs stand for freedom and emotion; they are one of the most successful market segments worldwide. The Urus is the most extreme interpretation of the SUV idea; it is the Lamborghini of SUVs,” Lamborghini president Stephan Winkelmann said at Beijing.

It is anticipated that the Uris could be in showrooms by 2015.

New Porsche Cayenne GTS revealed

Porsche have revealed the latest addition to the Cayenne range; the Cayenne GTS.

The GTS is being offered with a 420bhp V8 engine accelerating to 0-62mph in 5.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 162mph.

The GTS will make its debut at the Beijing Motor Show this month and will go sale in July with prices starting at £67,147.

Ferrari Reveals Limited Edition 458 Italia for 20th Anniversary in China

Ferrari has revealed a special edition of the 458 Italia to celebrate their 20th anniversary of importing cars into China.

The 20 exclusive special edition cars will only be for the Chinese market.

The cars will be finished in a brand new one off colour - Marco Polo Red and have a Chinese theme running throughout. Features include; gold wheels, gold and black stripes on the roof, a golden dragon on the bonnet, headrests embroidered in gold, a 20th Anniversary Special Edition plaque on the dash board and inscribed on the starter button is the Chinese characters for ‘start’.

The 458 will make its debut at a permanent exhibition at the Shanghai World Expo Park.

New Mercedes G-Class Revealed

Mercedes have revealed pictures of the updated G-Class, which is due to premiere at this month’s Beijing Motor Show.

The 33-year-old G-Class has been given a facelift and has a V12 6.0 litre- twin turbo AMG engine.

The car is expected to go on sale this Autumn. Mercedes have yet to confirm the price but it is expected to be in the region of £82,000.

BMW Reveals First Pictures of the i8 Spyder Concept

BMW have released first images of the i8 Spyder Concept ahead of its debut at this month’s Beijing Motor Show, which runs from April 27 to May 2.

The i8 Spyder Concept is a convertible version of the BMW i8 concept car.

BMW described the plug-in hybrid concept as “the most progressive and innovative sports car of its time”.

The car can accelerate from 0 to 62mph in under 5 seconds and gets 94 miles to the gallon.

It is expected that the i8 will go on sale in 2014.

New Jaguar F-Type

Prototypes of the new Jaguar convertible F-Type have been spotted on-road testing.

Jaguar has described the new sports car as “the spiritual successor to the E-Type”. The car has been inspired by the Jaguar C-X16 concept, which was released last September.

Business secretary Vince Cable said: "I am delighted that Jaguar's innovative new sports car will be made by the highly skilled workforce at Castle Bromwich in the Midlands. This news is further evidence of the company's growth and strength of the brand which remains a key part of the UK's positive automotive story.

"This announcement follows the recent good news of another 1,000 jobs at Jaguar Land Rover's Halewood plant."

The design will be unveiled later this year and will be on sale next year.

Mercedes SL65 AMG 2012-2013 revealed

Mercedes has released details of the new AMG following the release of the Roadster at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.

The AMG is faster than the Roadster, and will be powered by a 6.0 litre twin-turbocharged v-12 engine, reaching 0-60mph in 4 seconds.

Pagani Huayra on Sale

The first Pagani Huayra has gone on sale in Switzerland following its unveiling at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.

The Zonda successor is being offered by Carugati, Pagani’s approved partner in Geneva. Carugati hasn’t disclosed the price of the prestigious number one chassis.

The lucky customer will have to wait until June to take delivery of the two tone red and carbon Huayra.

BMW recall 1.3 million 5 and 6 Series worldwide

BMW have announced that they are recalling 1.3 million 5 and 6 Series models, including 109,000 cars in the UK.

The models affected were built between 2003 and 2010.

The German car firm said of the recall that "in some remote cases, the battery cable cover inside the boot of these vehicles may be incorrectly mounted".

"This can result in the electrical system malfunctioning, the vehicle failing to start and, in some cases, to charring or fire," the company went on to say.

A company spokesperson has confirmed that they are not aware of any incidents or injuries caused by the fault.

BMW is currently writing to owners to advise them of the recall. The repair will take around 30 minutes to complete at a BMW workshop.

75 years on, New Atalanta Sports Tourer Revealed

Earlier this month Atalanta officially unveiled an updated version of their Sports Tourer, 75 years after the model was first made public.

21 vehicles were made between 1937 and 1939 and of those only seven remain and four are in

working order. The new updated model was revealed earlier this month at the Royal Automobile Club in London.

The new model was intended to "sensitively bring the original Atalanta design up to date, delivering modern motoring needs of safety, reliability and performance but still remaining true in spirit to the Atalanta sports car ideals and deliver the quality of product that this marque deserves".

Limited commissions for the Atalanta are being taken and each car can be built to the customer’s individual preferences.

Official images of the 740hp Ferrari F12berlinetta Released

Ferrari has announced the F12berlinetta, the highly-anticipated successor to the 599.

The F12berlinetta is the "most powerful and high- performance" Ferrari road car ever launched, powered by a 740hp, 6.3 litre v12 engine.

The F12berlinetta can reach 0-62mph in 3.1 seconds and 0-124mph in 8.5 seconds. It completes a lap of Ferrari's Fiorano test track in 1min 23 seconds.

The F12berlinetta is due to be officially unveiled at next week’s Geneva International Motor Show.

Although Ferrari hasn’t revealed its price, it is expected to cost between £240,000 and £250,000 in the UK. First UK deliveries are thought to be in late 2012.

New Jaguar XF Sportbrake Estate

Jaguar has released images of the new XF Sportbrake, which is due to make its debut at the Geneva International Motor Show next week.

The new Jaguar, which is based on the XF Saloon is marginally longer and weighs approximately 70kg more.

The XK Sportbrake is scheduled to hit showrooms from the third quarter of 2012 and prices and specifications will be revealed later on in the year.

New Kia K9

Kia Motors Corp has released pictures of their first ever rear-drive car. The K9 is set to be introduced in its home market of South Korea later this year and will not be sold in Western Europe or China.

Kia spokesman Michael Choo confirmed that “The name for export markets will not be K9”.

Soon-Nam Lee, Kia's Director of overseas marketing said, "K9 is our first rear-wheel-drive large sedan, created without compromise in its design, driving performance and new technologies. K9 sets a whole new level of standards and values in the large sedan segment, and its design will be another Kia demonstration of our brand's power to surprise the world".

Land Rover Release Images of their New Evoque Convertible Concept

Land Rover’s concept for a convertible version of the Range Rover Evoque is due to make its debut at the 2012 Geneva International Motor Show next month.

Land Rover Design Director, Gerry McGovern said, "the Evoque lends itself beautifully to the idea of a convertible. This study is not a traditional convertible design execution - instead we have worked with the balance of the Evoque's lines to retain its distinctive shape and create something that is unique and, we believe, highly desirable."

John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director said: "The Evoque Convertible Concept is a new twist to the Evoque story and explores the potential to further extend the nameplate's appeal by giving existing customers more choice, whilst at the same time reaching out to a completely new customer base. We are excited to see the response to this concept as we assess the potential for building on the Evoque's exceptional success so far."

The Range Rover Evoque has been on sale six months and is enjoying strong sales around the world.

Ferrari 250 GTO becomes the world's most expensive car ever sold in the UK

Having enjoyed an illustrious racing career, a classic Ferrari has changed hands for £20.2 million, making it the UK's most expensive car sale. The rare Ferrari 250 GTO, one of only 39 to be built between 1962 and 1964, had a 6,000 price tag when it was manufactured in 1963.

The sports car, number 5095, is understood to have been sold by British businessman Jon Hunt who bought the car for what was then a world-record at £15.7million in 2008. The GTO is now thought to be on its way to Spain.

Chairman of classic Ferrari specialist Talacrest, John Collins, confirmed the sale but declined to say whether Mr Hunt did actually own the GTO.

Finishing second, the GTO made its motorsport debut in the 1963 at the Tour de France road race, driven by Carlo Maria Abate and Lucien Bianchi. It then went on to win three competitions the following year; the Rallye du Limousin, the Rallye de Picardie and Les Andelys hillclimb.

The 250 GTO was fitted with a 3.0 litre V12 engine, and had a 0-60mph time of around 6.1 seconds and a top speed of 174mph.

The GTO is the second most expensive car ever sold in the world after a 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC was sold 'between £20 and £26million' in 2010.

BMW Releases First Pictures of the New M6 Coupe and Convertible

Ahead of the Geneva Motorshow, BMW have released the first pictures of the new rear-wheel drive BMW M6 Coupe and Convertible.

Closely related to the new M5, the M6 shares the same 552bhp 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine (more powerful than its close rival, the Jaguar XKR-S) as well as the seven-speed M double-clutch transmission gearbox. The Coupe reaches 0 to 62 mph in 4.2 seconds and the Coupe in 4.3 seconds and both are electronically restricted to 155mph unless the customer goes for the M Driver's Package, which reaches a top speed of 189mph.

They are fitted with BMW’s fuel-saving EfficientDynamics technologies, resulting in less fuel consumption, and bringing CO2 emissions to 232g/km (239g/km for the convertible).

Both models are on sale in the UK on 15 September 2012, with the Coupe costing £93,795 (£20,000 more expensive than a new M5) and the Convertible £98,995.
